A Qualified Librarian with experience in E-Resource Management, Collection Development, Faculty Liaison and Information Literacy Teaching.
I am a motivated, conscientious and responsible library professional with proven experience in the public and FE sectors and a thorough grasp of the importance of fostering and furthering access to learning.
Having worked in the library sector for eight years, four as a qualified librarian, I feel I can bring a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to any prospective organisation. This is a time of great change for libraries, public and academic alike, and I am keen to be at the forefront of this change, helping to shape the future for the important resources that are Britain's libraries.
My professional interests include: supporting the progression of FE students into HE; the use of social media in encouraging information literacy, with especial reference to popular sites such as Facebook, Twitter, delicious and Flickr; the use of mobile technologies in supporting learning; and copyright issues online, particularly concerning the ideological dichotomy between the entertainment industry and the emerging fan-based participatory culture.
